Our Fellowship Board coordinates activities throughout the year to bring our church family together, and encourage friendships old and new. Some of the events in a typical year include:
The Penfield Party
This is our annual party at the beach! A church tradition since 1995. Food, drink, entertainment, and of course great company. Takes place at the Penfield II Pavilion on a Sunday evening in September.
The Deacons’ Picnic
Our Deacons and Junior Deacons host the annual Church Picnic on the Green on the first Sunday after Labor Day, right after the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Burgers and Dogs on the grill and entertainment.
Family Ice Skating
On a Sunday afternoon in March at the Longshore Rink in Westport.
Progressive Dinner
An evening of fellowship with friends new and old, held midwinter. Appetizers at the church, then off to a host home for dinner, and then followed by dessert at another GHCC member’s home.
Chili Cook-off
Bring your favorite chili recipe for an evening of light-hearted “competition” and lots of good eating!
Ice Cream Social
Held on the patio after worship service on a Sunday in June.
An Evening For Appalachia
Held in March, this event is the key fundraiser for the summer mission trip to Appalachia. It is an evening of great fun, great fellowship, and great auction items!
